Art Gallery of NSW to take on official wine partner, increases local wine offerings
A spokesperson for the Art Gallery of NSW has confirmed that its business development team is currently inviting expressions of interest from wineries interested in becoming the official wine partner of the Art Gallery. “Commencing in December 2026, the Art Gallery is seeking to establish a new multi-year partnership valued between $150,000 and $200,000 per annum in combined cash and in-kind support. The opportunity is aimed at a wine brand of the highest standard that wishes to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the arts.” The decision comes after the Art Gallery of NSW received criticism earlier this month from NSW producers over having more interstate wines on the menu at its restaurants. Since then, the spokesperson explained that the gallery has expanded its offerings of local wines. The issue was originally raised by Orange-based wine advocate David Cumming, who welcomed the change.
