The world of wine was rocked with the news that Matthew Jukes has died whilst on holiday with his family last week in Portugal. The tributes and memories that have been shared on social media over the last few days goes some way to showing just how highly regarded, respected, revered and loved he was by so many in the trade. None more so in Australia where Jukes was regarded as an Honorary Australian thanks to his tireless efforts to promote the country and its wines and producers with his annual 100 Best Australian Wines report and the countless tastings he held to showcase the country’s best wines.
