Champagne makers agree to reduce yield for 2026

Champagne growers and houses met in Épernay to agree this year's marketable yield.
They decided on a marketable yield of 8,800kg per hectare, marking a slight reduction from the 2025 level of 9,000kg per hectare. According to Comité Champagne, the collective decision aims to gradually rebalance stocks while preserving the economic viability and quality of the vineyards.

The Comité added that setting a marketable yield is one of the most important factors in building resilience in the region, allowing producers to adapt production to medium- and long-term market needs while avoiding sudden fluctuations.

It said the measured approach helps preserve stability for producers and supports sustainable growth across the entire appellation.
