LANGTONS unveils first Classification of International Wine

LANGTONS has released its inaugural Classification of International Wine, a 160-bottle list of the most actively traded global wines among Australia’s top collectors. Drawn from five years of secondary-market auction data through the house, the ranking is designed as a practical guide for investment, collecting and comparison with Australian fine wine.

French labels dominate, accounting for 122 of the 160 entries. Italy follows with 17, New Zealand with nine. Nineteen regions appear across France, Italy, New Zealand, the United States, Germany, Spain and Portugal. Chardonnay emerged as the leading variety—an outcome that aligns with the cooler-climate, lighter-style preference already visible in LANGTONS’ long-running Classification of Australian Wine.
