El Niño and the Cape Winelands: why the national forecast only tells part of the story

The South African Weather Service has confirmed El Niño conditions into 2027, but the Western Cape is a winter-rainfall region. We spoke to climate specialist Dr Tara Southey and viticulturist Marko Roux about what the season could mean for Cape vineyards, and where preparation matters most.
