Germany Expects 8.0 Million Hectoliters Wine Must Harvest in 2026
Destatis projects Germany's 2026 wine must harvest at 8.0 million hectoliters, up 5% from 2025 but 4% below the 2020-2025 average. Drought and heat kept berries small while concentrating constituents, pointing to a qualitatively good vintage. Rheinhessen and Pfalz account for over half the harvest, and Riesling is set to rise 8% to 1.8 million hectoliters.
