How Alessandro Noli has found the true heart of Domaine Clos de Tart

On a rare visit to the UK, Alessandro Noli revealed how, as head winemaker, he has rebuilt the sleeping giant of Clos de Tart since its purchase by Artémis Domaines – the group that owns Château Latour and Château Grillet. Swapping white wine for red and the Rhône for Burgundy, Noli moved from Grillet to Clos de Tart seven years ago and in that time has carried out a transformation that has seen this largest grand cru monopole in Burgundy maximising its potential. Peter Dean got the lowdown on the changes and tastes five vintages of the grand cru and one of La Forge, including the latest 2023 vintages of each wine.
