Labour law compliance urged as authorities target SA vineyards
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO), Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) and Department of Home Affairs’ Australian Border Force (ABF) have conducted joint coordinated unannounced inspections targeting vineyard owners and labour hire providers. Surprise compliance visits to 18 vineyards in the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale have already been carried out as a part of ‘Operation Zephyr’ under the Shadow Economy Taskforce.
