Manchester wine buyers take Provence wines on a restaurant tour
The rise and rise of Provence rosé has been one of the few standout successes in an otherwise troubled wine category with its all-round appeal attracting more returning and loyal customers across the premium on and off-trade. What’s more its popularity is no longer just reserved for when the sun is out, with strong and consistent Provence rosé sales throughout the year. But it is in the premium on-trade where Provence can really shine and provide multiple solutions for restaurants and venues looking for the bright, fresh, lighter styles of wine that their customers are increasingly looking for. To help showcase the diversity of its wines, The Buyer teamed up with Vins de Provence to recruit a suitably wide mix of local wine buyers, merchants, importers and educators in and around Manchester to take part in our latest Restaurant Tour. It was an opportunity for them to see how Provence rosé fared when put up against different cuisines and styles of food at premium steak group, Hawksmoor, award-winning Greek restaurant Kallos and fine Asian cuisine at Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay.
