New Ruinart chef de cave, Caroline Fiot, debuts at UK Somm Challenge
It is Caroline's Fiot's first visit to the UK as Ruinart's new chef de cave, having taken up her appointment in January this year, following the tragic death of her predecessor, Frédéric Panaïotis. She is here to introduce the maison's ninth Sommelier Competition which first started in the US. Miranda Long joined as a guest – to find out about Fiot’s new role and learn about their rosé techniques, which was the focus of this year’s sommelier challenge and masterclass. Twenty-nine somms gathered from around the UK to take on the challenge of identifying sparkling and still rosé wines in a blind tasting held in the Dorchester Hotel's Crystal Suite in London.
