New tasting room draws plenty of attention to the views that surround this Pa. winery

It has been almost seven months since Weathered Vineyards in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley opened its new tasting room. So far, co-owner Richard Woolley said a couple of weeks ago, so good. “A lot of people been very happy,” he said. “We’re satisfied. We’d like to see a little bit more venue rental-type things. Traffic has picked up a little bit, which is always good. Visitors, they come out and they’re in awe of just the view and the area.” The rural venue, at 7618 Carpet Road in New Tripoli, is located about a half hour drive from downtown Allentown. It’s perched atop a hill, offering sweeping views of the surrounding countrywide in what is part of the Lehigh Valley AVA (American Viticultural Association). Richard and wife Dana Woolley opened the place in October of 2014.
