New wine preservation system designed to cut wastage and grow by-the-glass sales

Le Verre de Vin+, distributed by Wine Preservation Systems, is a new preservation system designed to help venues cut wastage and grow by-the-glass sales. Staff can reseal an opened bottle of sparkling or still wine “in seconds” by inserting a stopper into the bottle, pushing it to the unit’s nozzle and then removing it once the light has turned green. Wine Preservation Systems estimates most venues lose somewhere between 7-15% of every bottle poured by the glass, wine that's already been paid for but never reaches a paying guest. Moreover, it claims that “wasting just 75ml (half a glass) per bottle can add up to well over five figures in lost revenue a year for a venue running an average by-the-glass list”. "Every venue that pours wine by the glass is leaving money on the bar – often at a scale they don’t realise," said David Grant, general manager of Wine Preservation Systems.
