SA wine exporters fill the gap caused by US-Canada trade dispute

The South Australian Government has revealed that there has been a significant increase in sales of SA wine to Canada and that it will build on this momentum with a new trade official to be based in Canada. Nearly 18 months after several Canadian provinces pulled US wine from their shelves, Canada has emerged as a strong growth market, rising to become the state’s third largest wine export partner, overtaking the United States and behind only China and the United Kingdom. Following “swift and targeted investment by the state government and local winemakers”, wine exports to Canada have grown by over $24 million in the year to August 2026, now valued at $128 million.
