WA shines at 2026 Australian Small Winemakers Show

The 2026 Australian Small Winemakers Show culminated last Friday 23 October with the announcement of trophy winners at Varias restaurant in Stanthorpe on Queensland's Granite Belt. 2026 is the 40th year of the Australian Small Winemakers Show celebrating the quality, diversity and innovation of Australia’s small-scale wine producers. Wines were received from all wine producing states “showcasing the wide range of varieties and styles produced by small-scale winemakers across Australia”. Organisers shared that Western Australian wineries shone, securing three of the major trophies in the show and 59% overall of all gold medals awarded. Mandoon Estate won the ‘Champion Winery of Show’, ‘Champion Sparkling’ and the ‘Preben Jacobsen Memorial Stewards’ Choice’, with Hamelin Bay Wines winning the ‘Champion White Wine’, and Jadran Wines the ‘Dick De Luca Memorial trophy’ for ‘Champion Shiraz’.
