Yellow Tail records $5.5m loss as US sales falter

Casella Wines, maker of Yellow Tail, has reported its first loss in 13 years as sales to the US fell by almost 17%, according to The Australian. The $5.5 million loss indicates that Americans may be losing interest in Yellow Tail. The figure is a stark contrast to its profit of $18.6 million in 2024 and $26.5 million in 2023. The company recorded just under $2.1 million in goodwill impairments, a doubling of losses on foreign exchange movements of $15 million, and a $50 million rise in raw materials costs.
