Australian Pinot Noir Challenge open for entries

The Australian Pinot Noir Challenge has opened entries for the 2026 competition. Now in its 9th year, the event is “known for its rigorous judging process and esteemed panel of judges” and “recognised as a significant accolade in the wine industry”. Entries close Tuesday 11 August, with entry delivery between Tuesday 17 August and Friday 28 August. Judging will take place from Tuesday 8 to Wednesday 9 September, with trophy announcement to be advised. The 2026 judging panel will be chaired by Pinot Noir fanatic Tom Carson and includes Michael Downer, Brendan Hawker, Imogen Dillon, Tillie Johnston, Adam Cotterall and Leanne Altmann, with associates Charlie Warne, Thomas Borghesi, Grace Jiranek and Matthew Lugg. Carson, chair of judges, said Australian Pinot Noir is among the finest varieties with so much potential still to be unlocked.
